The Eden Leisure Group has been in the forefront of Hospitality and Entertainment in Malta since the early days of tourism fifty years ago. Starting from with our first hotel, the Eden Rock in 1967, ELG moved its operations to St Georges’ Bay in the 1980 and diversified into the entertainment sector with our first state of the art discotheque. This was soon followed by other clubs, a bowling centre, a radio station ( now three), followed by Malta’s first multiplex cinema. At its height, the Eden Cinemas boasted of 21 screens. In the noughties, we invested heavily in Malta’s largest 5 star hotel with 451 rooms and 46 apartments, together with a ice skating rink, Cynergi health and fitness club, an Imax theatre and a car park. A few years later we invested in the St. Georges’ Bay beach and opened the Paranga restaurant on the water’s edge and a lido.
We are always on the lookout for strategic partners; InterContinental Hotels Group was chosen to manage our flagship property in 2003. We worked with this world famous hotel brand for two years prior to the opening to ensure that we offer a world class property. What all our outlets have in common in terms of entertainment and hospitality is that they were always innovative and ahead of the curve.
ELG is well known all over the island for providing top class venues that one only previously seen in the capital cities of Europe. We firmly believe in providing the local market as well as the large influx of visitors with quality 5 star venues. Our investment in hospitality continues even today with an additional 3 floors at the InterContinental Malta providing a hotel within a hotel concept, with 54 six star suites, an exclusive executive lounge and a new roof top infinity pool serving this new area with views along the coast to Gozo as well as the Sliema coastline. We have also invested heavily in a new state of the art conference centre at the InterContinental, the IACC (InterContinental Arena conference centre) and we are also bringing the first Holiday Inn Express to Malta which will be operational in late 2017. This property will be our second hotel managed by InterContinental Hotels Group. We are also very proud that after many years of effort, Eden Leisure Group won a concession to operate a casino on the island. Casino Malta at the InterContinental Malta opened its doors in December of 2015 and further enhanced our entertainment portfolio. Once again we have chosen a strategic partner to operate this facility. Following intensive research we chose Olympic Entertainment Group, a publicly quoted multi casino owner and operator from Estonia, as our management operator and partner.Casino Malta is already considered the top casino on the Island.
I hope we will have the pleasure of your visit to one of our venues in St Georges’ Bay, whilst assuring you of a great experience
