Do you enjoy music, dance, painting, sculpture, literature, poetry, theatre and more? Are you talented and passionate about the arts in Malta? 89.7 Bay is excited to announce details of a brilliant new scheme to support young artists on Malta.
The programme, called Artivisti, aims to inspire Malta’s best young talent and give them the training, mentoring and networking they need to hit the big time. Malta’s culture minister Owen Bonnici told 89.7 Bay: ‘This new programme is certainly impressive.
‘It builds on the achievements of previous years and it will tap into a nourishing pool of outstanding talent and help achieve the highest quality targets’.
WHAT’S ON OFFER?
Eight selected artists will be awarded a scholarship with a package of benefits and opportunities for a year.
– A grant of €2,000 for your personal creative development
– A professional mentor to support you in their artistic career
– Lots of networking opportunities with other artists
– Help to develop further your creative potential.
– 89.7 Bay will also promote your work on air and online
WHO IS BEHIND IT?
The community youth arts project has been put together by Arts Council Malta and the Maltese youth services agency, ‘Aġenzija Żgħażagħ’. Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Clifton Grima welcomed the collaboration with 89.7 Bay.
He said: ‘Artivisti will provide a space for young people to challenge peers and communicate the significance of their creative expression to the wider community.
‘Year after year, these Artivisti will create a legacy of creative works from the younger generations.’
HOW DO I APPLY?
Miriam Teuma of Aġenzija Żgħażagħ encouraged artists aged between 16 and 25 who show outstanding talent, passion for the arts and commitment, to submit a nomination. She added: ‘We await nominations of prospective Artivisti with enthusiasm.
‘These young people will be the face of the initiative, the life and soul of the Artivisti programme.’
Nominations close on September 28.
