Eden Leisure Group’s Pop-Up Thrift Shop Raises Over €6,000 for Charity

Eden Leisure Group is delighted to announce the success of its 2025 Pop-Up Thrift Shop, held on Sunday, 22nd June at InterContinental Malta. The event raised an impressive €6,151 in support of MSPCA and Inspire Malta, further strengthening Eden Leisure Group’s commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

Part of the Sustainable Fashion Programme 2025, the Pop-Up Thrift Shop aimed to spotlight the environmental impact of fast fashion while promoting more conscious consumer choices. The programme also featured clothing swaps, educational workshops, and other initiatives designed to encourage sustainable fashion habits.

Sunday’s event drew hundreds of shoppers, who explored curated selections of pre-loved clothing, vintage finds, and timeless wardrobe staples, with each item sold at bargain prices and with a purpose. With 100% of proceeds going to charity, every purchase helped support MSPCA, Malta’s oldest animal welfare organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals, and Inspire Malta, which provides essential services to individuals with disabilities and their families across the island.  There was even a special visit by several MSPCA puppies and their humans, who enjoyed a day out and happily interacted with the shoppers.

“We’re thrilled with the turnout and the funds raised,” said Kate de Cesare, Chief Sustainability Officer at Eden Leisure Group. “This event was aimed at showcasing how making sustainable, thoughtful, values-driven choices when shopping can be great fun and value for money! We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who donated clothes, volunteered, or came along to support the cause.”

Across its last three Pop-Up Thrift events, Eden Leisure Group has raised over €15,000 for local NGOs, making it one of the Group’s most impactful community initiatives. This year’s edition not only celebrated second-hand fashion but also served as a powerful reminder that style and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Eden Leisure Group looks forward to building on this momentum, continuing to champion meaningful causes through creative, community-focused events.
