Eden Assembly: New Employee Programme, Company Updates & Employee of the Year

The First Annual Eden Assembly took place this Tuesday at the Eden Cinemas to launch a new Employee Wellness Programme, announce the Employee of the Year and also share some exciting company updates.

Simon De Cesare, Chief Executive Officer, opened the event announcing an even greater effort for a two-way stream of communication between management and employees.

Continuing with an overview of the past year, De Cesare praised how amazingly the departments bounced back despite the forced closures and significant restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The workforce also doubled, having started the year with 98 employees and ended it with 180. Departments also returned to 2019 levels of peformance.

The new exciting project in the heart of St. Julian’s was also announced that will be taking the place of the former Cinema Building across from the main Eden Cinemas. A new hotel will be erected along with a new Entertainment complex featuring the newly renovated Eden SuperBowl, retail outlets and restaurants.

De Cesare also announced a strategy to eventually arrive at Carbon Neutrality, by taking a look at the impacts of all of ELG’s businesses, from waste to fuel to electricity consumption and other aspects.

Kate De Cesare, Chief Operations Officer, took the stage to officially launch the Eden Employee Social & Wellnes Programme. The programme is aimed to help look after the company’s greatest asset: the people.

The programme comprises all the tools, social support, incentives and strategies needed to adopt and maintain a healthy, happy lifestyle and to create a sense of community. All employees working with ELG are entitled to these benefits.

To close off the event the winner of the Employee of the Year 2021 was also announced. Denis Muscat, Marketing Manager received the award for all his efforts and professional work throughout the year!
