The 2017/18 season has been carefully curated with a host of truly spectacular productions including many favourites. These operas and ballets shall be transmitted live, via satellite onto the big screen, for all to enjoy.

The Royal Opera live cinema season kicks-off at Eden Cinemas with Mozart’s fantastical opera The Magic Flute (Wednesday 20 September). Shown for the first time in cinemas audiences will be transported to the land of the Queen of the Night.

Among the opera highlights of the season is Puccini’s Tosca featuring the Maltese, world-renowned tenor Joseph Calleja on the 7th February, and Verdi’s Rigoletto and Macbeth (16th January & 4th April).

The Royal Ballet’s slate is equally as impressive, with Christopher Wheeldon productions including Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland on the 23rd October and The Winter’s Tale on the 28th February. The final performance of the Season is the hotly anticipated new staging of Swan Lake (Tuesday 12 June) by Liam Scarlett.

Broadcast live, directly from The Royal Opera House, viewers will experience all that live theatre has to offer. Audiences will get access to pre show and behind the scenes footage, some may agree that the experience is more exclusive than watching it in London. They will also learn how The Royal Opera House productions are staged and designed from the perspective of the directors, cast, crew and more!

Ticket prices for the live shows are €18 per adult and include a complimentary glass of wine and complimentary parking at the Eden Car Park. Tickets for children and youths aged 16 and under are €10.
