Guillaume Tell: Live from London’s Royal Opera House

Broadcast live on Sunday 5th July from London’s Royal Opera House is Gioachino Rossini’s magnificent opera, ‘Guillaume Tell’. Arguably one of the most exciting of all operatic overtures, the production will be transmitted at 3:45pm, exclusively at the Eden Cinemas. ‘Guillaume Tell’ is the composer’s final opera and helped to lay the foundations of the genre of French grand opéra that dominated European stages throughout the mid-19th Century.

Conducted by Antonio Pappano, and performed together with the Royal Opera Chorus and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Rossini’s original score is one of the most outstanding of all times. Packed with glorious arias, choruses and ensembles, there is no doubt that this production will be a favourite amongst those who appreciate opera. Adding to the excitement is the award-winning Italian director Damiano Michieletto, who makes his debut with what promises to be a spectacular and through-provoking production that focuses on the theme of liberty.

Enhancing this unique experience is the amplified sound, together with dimmed lighting in Eden Cinemas’ multipurpose theatre which provides a sense of authenticity, as though watching the opera from the Royal Opera House. Sure to be an unforgettable experience, the audience pays just a fraction of that charged overseas for theatre tickets.

Tickets for ‘Guillaume Tell’ are priced at €23 per adult. A complimentary glass of wine will also be offered, together with complimentary parking and a 25% discount at Waterbiscuit upon presentation of a ticket.
