After setting a number of international box office records for advance sales, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has now broken box office records at the Eden Cinemas. This highly anticipated film crashed US ticketing site Fandango last month as well as major UK exhibitors Odeon and Vue’s web sites.

In less than 48 hours the very first midnight screening of the new edition of the franchise sold out in cinema 16, and this almost a month before its release date.  Since then thousands more have purchase their tickets for this end of year blockbuster.

This places Star Wars: The Force Awaken as a definite contender for the top film of the year beating the likes of Spectre, Fifty Shades of Grey and Fast And Furious 7.  Shot in 3D by acclaimed director J.J. Abrams, this edition comes 38 years after the first film was produced.

Star Wars: The Force awakens, will open at midnight on the 17th of December, Wednesday night.
