Between the 24th and 26th of April, 89.7 Bay brought over British radio guru Nik Goodman. Well known in the industry, Goodman trained the radio presenters and sales team, with the aim of inspiring employees as well as helping the station maintain its high standards.
After graduating from Bournemouth University with a degree in Radio Production, Goodman started working alongside the legendary record producer Pete Waterman at Radio City in his native Liverpool. He went on to working for PowerFM, as well as Virgin Radio where he was appointed Head of Music. Clearly talented, Nik also produced the Sony Award winning Morning Show – ‘Bam Bam Breakfast’ at Kiss 100 in London. Further success came when appointed to Programme Director of Radio Forth in Edinburgh. When returning to London back in 2004 he became Programme Director of the world-famous 95.8 Capital FM in London. With an impressive career behind him, Nik now runs ‘Bounce’ – a creative consultancy and production company focusing on music, sound and content. The company works with companies such as the BBC, Sky and Microsoft.
Employees of Bay Radio commented on how the weekend was an exciting opportunity for all involved and that Nik’s passion and dedication for the industry was obvious throughout. Station Manager Kevin De Cesare also stated that this experience clearly ‘’motivated the entire team’’ and that ‘’learning from one of the top people in the industry is what the station needs to continue moving forward as Malta’s leading radio station’’.
