This December, the Eden Leisure Group will be hosting its second Pop-Up Thrift Shop to raise funds for two local charities, just in time for Christmas.
Following the success of their first pop-up thrift shop last September, where over €5000 was raised in support of 3 local NGOs, this event will be Christmas-themed, allowing shoppers to opt for more sustainable gifts this year.
The event will take place on December 11th between 10AM-5PM at the InterContinental Malta in St Julian’s and will include a carefully curated selection of winter clothes and party clothes including several top brands and vintage pieces; as well as Christmas decorations and gifts.
Thrifting serves as a fun, yet environmental activity where great bargains can be found and save used clothing from ending up in landfills. About 20% of the clean water pollution in the world is due to the dyeing and finishing of textiles. Fast fashion is the third largest polluting industry and therefore, purchasing pre-loved garments will help combat this issue.
All proceeds from the Pop-Up will be donated to MSPCA and Inspire.
Entrance is free and refreshments will be available while you browse.
