Discover the true journey of Pope Francis in ‘Chiamatemi Francesco’. Showing exclusively at Eden Cinemas, from the 23rd of March to the 5th of April, the story will unravel the emotional life of the Head of the Catholic Church.

‘Call me Francesco’ relates the journey that brought Jorge Bergoglio, the son of Italian immigrants in Buenos Aires, to become the Bishop of Rome. The story is set against the backdrop of Argentina’s history, which has been full of turbulent moments, from elections to the Papacy of 2013.

It’s a journey of humanity and spirituality lasting over than half a century; challenging and testing the faith of Jorge – the future Pope. From becoming the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, the movie follows him to the unforgettable night in Saint Peter’s Square where Jorge Bergoglio is dressed in white, and with a metal cross, he greets the world, with his new name, Francesco,

The investigation film is written and directed by Danielle Luchetti who wished to uncover the truth about a man of faith, and a man who believes. “I tried to tell his story by “walking” by his side,” Luchetti explains. “I tried to put all the clues together, to analyze his gestures during the sermons and interviews before his election. Above all I tried to be faithful to the truth of his story and to the laws of storytelling”

The film will be screened in Italian with English subtitles throughout.
