Eden SuperBowl’s Malta Senior Open Closes With a Blast

The Malta Senior Open returned for its 23rd edition and we had a new champion for 2022 on Sunday. The international tournament was last organised in 2019, since 2020 proved difficult due to the COVID-19 situation in Malta and throughout Europe.

Nonetheless, the event came back this year in full steam with 44 bowlers participating from 11 different countries, all coming together to compete for this year’s title.

“The atmosphere on the lanes was amazing. It was great to be back to hosting tournaments that bring people from all over the world together. Everyone there was having a great time and the competition was tough – everything you’d expect from a bowling tournament.” Dejan Cosic, Eden Superbowl Manager said.

All this being said, the winners reflected the diversity on the lanes well. Herman Wimmer from Germany took the gold medal home, whereas Malta’s own Kenneth Arpa came in as a close second. Third place was awarded to England’s Robert Bruce and Abed Latif Mahamid from Israel finished fourth.

Eden SuperBowl thanked their sponsors once again, Farsons Cisk Lager and Casino Malta, for making the event possible.

Cosic said that he is already looking forward towards next year’s Malta Senior Open as were many other participants that attended this year’s tournament.

“I am really satisfied with the results of the Senior Open,” he continued, “The players were happy and it shows in the feedback that we got!”

“The tournament ran smoothly with no problems whatsoever. The staff were helpful and always available. We made sure to really put our focus onto the players, and it definitely paid off.” Cosic finished off by thanking all competitors for participating and giving their best over the past week and extended an invitation for next year’s edition
